The 28th annual Deloitte Football Money League has been published, showcasing another year of record-breaking revenue growth across the football industry, with featured League clubs cumulatively reporting record revenues of €11.2bn, an increase of 6% on 2022/23.

Here are the standout moments:

LALIGA’s Real Madrid C.F. have become the first club to surpass One Billion Euros of revenue in a single season, securing its position at the top of the Money League. They are followed by Manchester City Football Club (€838m), Paris Saint-Germain (€806m), Manchester United (€771m) and FC Bayern München (€765m).

Several clubs identified the impact of infrastructure investments as a key revenue driver, with Liverpool Football Club and Olympique Lyonnais Groupe (€264m) benefitting from such projects, with higher attendances and non-matchday events boosting matchday and commercial revenue respectively.

For a third year, the Deloitte Digital Football Money League profiled 15 of the top revenue-generating women’s teams, with these clubs reporting revenues of over €100m for the first time. The cumulative revenue of €116.6m in the 2023/24 season marks a 35% year-on-year growth when accounting for group income. The growth of women’s football is not just about on-pitch success, broadcasting deals and sponsorship opportunities are growing exponentially, making it a key area of focus for clubs looking to capitalise on new revenue streams.

This latest report from Deloitte demonstrates that the commercial football bubble shows no sign of bursting, as revenue records and growth benchmarks are consistently surpassed. The global reach of football continues to expand, particularly in the Middle East and Asia, where top clubs are capitalising on emerging markets and securing lucrative sponsorship deals to further enhance their commercial revenues. With continued innovation and strategic investments, the football industry is poised for even greater growth in the years to come.
