In May 2023, Soccerex will return to the spiritual home of football, when we host for the second time in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Football is the most popular sport in Brazil and is a key part of the national identity, with the Selecao Canarinha the most successful team in international football history, having won the World Cup 5 times, in 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994 and 2002 – it is also home to arguably the greatest player of all time, Edson Arantes do Nascimento, or Pele as he is more commonly known. As well as having a gloried history in the game on the pitch, off the pitch the sport continues to grow and thrive in Brazil, with the football clubs market reaching US$ 1,7 billion in 2019, compared to US$ 1,5 billion in 2018 and commands the 2nd largest audience for football globally. Soccerex Rio will welcome 2,000 guests from around the world to the wonderful Maria D’Gloria venue, set in amazing surroundings, within a long throw-in of the Copacabana beach and the Christ the Redeemer statue. 70+ speakers will take the main stage, providing insight on a myriad of topics including but not limited to, performance, broadcasting, good governance, fan engagement, athlete development, technology, analytics, and major tournaments. There will be two full days of debate, discussion, networking, meetings, knowledge sharing and thought leadership, as senior figures from the football business industry come together again under the umbrella of the world’s leading football business event.
