MEYBA x San Francisco City Football Club 2025 Away Kit

MEYBA and San Francisco City Football Club have teamed up with local brand Idle Worship to reimagine the iconic 1994 USMNT “Denim” kit. As San Francisco is the birthplace of the world’s biggest denim brand, it was a matter of time before the community-owned, -operated, and -focused club told that story through the lens of a jersey.

Men’s Away Jersey

The away jersey features an indigo base with custom sashiko patterns designed by Paulo Cui at Idle Worship, drawing inspiration from the ancient Japanese stitching technique. The sublimated stitches create a trompe-l’œil effect, giving the illusion of texture on the fabric.

Diamond patterns cover the front, while “dots” accent the sleeves. The back showcases a high-resolution scan of vintage linen provided by Idle Worship. Copper stitching throughout pays homage to classic denim jeans, while the club’s badge is recolored to mimic the iconic back patches found on them. Knitted collar and cuffs feature a red dotted line, reminiscent of selvedge jeans.

Blending denim heritage with Japanese craftsmanship, the design is completed with a nod to San Francisco’s Japantown, with the Peace Pagoda subtly placed under the collar.

San Francisco City FC

SF City was formed in San Francisco, California, in 2001 to compete in the SFSFL, (the oldest American soccer league in continuous existence) winning back to back to back championships and promotion in 2003, 2004, and 2005. SF City became the oldest community-owned football (soccer) club in the United States by 2014 and joined USL League Two in 2016. In 2024 SF City, partnered with San Francisco’s public transit agency, Muni, in a first-of-its-kind sponsorship.

Idle Worship

Idle Worship is a San Francisco craft brand focused on pushing fabrics forward. They specialize in traditional techniques with futuristic applications.

MEYBA

MEYBA was formed in Barcelona, Spain, in 1981. They became internationally known when they signed a historic agreement with FC Barcelona to become their first branded kit supplier. In the ten years that followed, the MEYBA M was worn by the likes of Maradona, Michael Laudrup, Ronald Koeman, and the young Pep Guardiola, all managed by Johan Cruyff.

MEYBA has worked with and continues to supply professional clubs and international federations globally, including teams in Europe, the US, Africa, and South America.
