In preparation for this pivotal moment, LaLiga will outline recommendations for the reinforcement of its management structure to the Delegate Committee, with the appointment of Javier Gomez as Corporate Director. Gomez, along with Executive Director Oscar Mayo, will be responsible for implementing the corporate and business strategies set out by the presidency.
Gomez is already experienced in the field of LaLiga corporate management, having worked in this post between 2013 and 2019. He played a key role in the conception and implementation of the current financial control and management system, which has made LaLiga a benchmark for the industry.
Adding Gomez to the team means that LaLiga not only have someone who knows the organisation inside-out, but can also rely on Gomez’s newly-acquired experienced at the AC Talent professional player representation and intermediation agency.
Meanwhile Jose Guerra, who worked in this role until now, moves to the position of Director of Strategic Operations & Boost LaLiga, a position of particular importance in light of the recent agreement with CVC.
Guerra will be responsible for managing and coordinating initiatives put forward by clubs as part of the strategic plans which they will undertake within the framework of the Boost LaLiga transformation project.
Additionally, LaLiga’s management hierarchy will be shaken up in order to consolidate and reinforce its structure. Under the leadership of president Javier Tebas, and together with Javier Gomez and Oscar Mayo, the following will make up the Executive Committee: Maria Jose Lopez, Legal Director; Miguel Angel Leal, Managing Director of LaLiga Tech; Jose Carlos Franco, Director of Technology; and Loreto Quintero, Director of Strategic Projects.
Thanks to this new management team, LaLiga is now in a stronger position to achieve the growth targets which LaLiga clubs have in their sights.
