The organizations are teaming up to host a Sports Business Hackathon presented by StellarAlgo on Tuesday, July 12 at DRV PNK Stadium.
Students, statisticians, developers, and engineers are invited to showcase their talents and compete against one another to build tools to solve real world problems that the professional sports industry is currently facing.

Who can apply to participate?
The competition is open to students from all levels from high school to undergrad, masters and PhD students.
Additionally, all applicants must apply individually, but are welcome to collaborate in the competition and present their solution as a team.
2022 Hackathon Theme and Format:
The theme for the club’s inaugural Hackathon will be unveiled during the opening ceremonies and center around translating data insights into meaningful business outcomes via utilizing ticketing, merchandising, customer relationship, and marketing channel attribution data to determine how to best grow, engage, and monetize a passionate fan base.
At the end of the allotted competition time, which will start at 9 a.m. ET and run through most of the day, teams will have the opportunity to present their work to industry leading expert judges in sports analytics, in addition to the audience, club personnel, media, invited guests and other competitors present. The top teams selected by the panel of judges will be rewarded with prizes, with a grand prize that will include:
- Pair of XBTO NW Club Tickets to the July 13 Inter Miami CF match for each engineer
- Opportunity to watch Inter Miami CF warm-ups from a VIP field level location
- Group photo on the field
- Link to purchase additional tickets at a discounted rate
- $100 Team Store Gift Card per winner (not to exceed $600 for the team)
The second and third place team will earn:
- Pair of complementary sideline tickets for each winner to the match on July 13
- Link to purchase additional tickets at a discounted rate
Winners will be selected on the following criteria:
- Originality and creativity of analysis
- Strategic and practical implementation
- Code and analysis scalability and organization
- Effective communication and summary of results
