Player 4 Player, an exciting, new player-led collective, has launched today with the mission to support current and former professional footballers in their careers on and off the pitch. Founded by elite former players, Stiliyan Petrov, Emile Heskey, Gaizka Mendieta, Michael Johnson and Gareth Farrelly, Player 4 Player will offer guidance and support across a range of services to ensure those in the professional game can achieve their absolute potential throughout and beyond their playing careers.
As the latest editions of both the Champions League and Europa League get underway, there is a sense of normality creeping back into the UEFA governed game and with some stadia even granted the ability to host supporters, the show is very much going on in terms of European football. While it is a show that will undergo something of a cosmetic tweak next season, as two midweek club competitions once again becomes three and with the arrival of the Europa Conference League on the horizon, a feast of continental action is set to be served.
On 21st-25th September, over 2,000 delegates, 130 speakers, clubs, leagues, federations, and leading figures from over 70 Countries came together at the launch of our first virtual event – Soccerex Connected. It was the first time in our 25 year history that we were unable to meet in person as we have done in 48 Cities around the world to date, but the reception from the global football community suggests that we didn’t fail to deliver an experience worthy of the Soccerex brand.

A burden that without some form of outside assistance, shows no signs of abating anytime soon and with this pertinent threat looming large, a collective plea has been delivered to the nation’s government.
The response to the Premier League’s decision to begin putting matches behind a paywall from football fans across the United Kingdom was typical. That’s not to say it wasn’t also justified, but the usual hullabaloo of indignation followed with fans taking to social media to vent at the powers that be for trying to make money out of them by making them pay £14.95 to watch their team play.
