Terraplas have exhibited at Soccerex events across the world, in South Africa, Singapore, Dubai, Brazil and Manchester, in turn gaining global visibility within the football business elite. They provide some of the world’s leading turf protection systems allowing stadiums to utilise their facilities to generate additional revenue from non-sporting events with their innovative coverings. Their products enable a quick turn-around from sporting to non-sporting events and back again, allowing stadiums to become truly multifunctional venues.
In the run up to the 2010 FIFA World CupTM Terraplas were part of the Soccerex Global Convention in Gauteng province, South Africa. As part of the event they were able to put their products in front of leading organisations, brands, clubs, federations and sponsors as well as key rightsholders for the tournament.
Through exhibiting Terraplas were able to connect with key government and stadia decision makers from around the world, including those from South Africa and Namibia. Off the back of these connections and in association with their regional distributor, Jayline, Tarraplas has now received five very prestigious orders totalling over £2.5 million for their turf protection systems.
In South Africa the orders were for Soccer City in Johannesburg, South Africa’s National Stadium, Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth, Cape Town Stadium and most recently Moses Mabhida stadium in Durban – all principal stadiums for the 2010 FIFA World CupTM. The national stadium of Namibia, Independence Stadium in Windhoek, also chose Terraplas products for their turf protection. The initial networking opportunity provided by Soccerex was followed by a rigorous tender process with the deal’s being awarded ahead of the 2010 FIFA World CupTM.
In the run up to the 2014 FIFA World CupTM in Brazil Terraplas continue to have a large presence at the Soccerex Global Convention in Rio de Janeiro – an ideal opportunity for them to position their products to Brazilian World Cup host cities and key government and stadia decision makers as well as the ever growing Latin American.
