Having attended Soccerex as delegates for a number of years, MatchVision decided to enhance their participation at this year’s Soccerex Asian Forum in May, showcasing their innovative tournament formats with a stand on the exhibition floor and a presentation slot on the event’s conference programme. The latter of which was attended by Sporsa+, a sports marketing and management company, based in Dubai, who specialize in event management and were at the Forum for the first time, as delegates.
After watching MatchVision’s presentation and learning of their ambitions to make a radical change to tournament formats globally, Sporsa+ met with MatchVision after the session and, following a positive discussion, the two organisations’ representatives agreed to meet on the exhibition floor where MatchVision had a stand from which they could hold a fact-to-face private meeting in order to discuss a possible partnership.
With MatchVision looking to take their groundbreaking tournament solutions into the Middle East and African markets, Sporsa+’s network and industry experience provided the perfect outlet from which to expand their presence into these markets.
MatchVision CEO, Leandro Shara, and Sporsa+ Managing Partner, Chucri Rizk, found a lot of common ground in their business objectives and, after exchanging business cards, agreed to keep in touch ahead of formalizing their partnership at the Soccerex Global Convention in September, and it was there that the two companies put pen to paper on a fantastic deal for both parties.
Speaking on the deal, Shara said:
“With their portfolio of international events, Soccerex provides a valuable platform to promote our tournament model to new markets in the football industry. Our participation at the Soccerex Asian Forum enabled us to form a strategic partnership with Sporsa+ which will significantly boost our business development in the Middle East. To come away with this partnership is a fantastic return on our investment. As a company with a long business cycle, having someone in the region that could not only get us a foothold in Asia but accelerate the business cycle there, due to their experience, is a real game-changer.”
Rizk also commented:
“The Soccerex Asian Forum was my first Soccerex event and it introduced me to many new ideas and new opportunities within the football industry. We are very excited to be working alongside MatchVision in their ambitions to take their tournament solutions to new markets and are delighted to have begun our journey at Soccerex, a truly unique platform for doing business with the football industry!”
