REFUGEES, BUT NOT MARTIANS, PICK THE WORLD CUP WINNER

Ask someone from England, France, U.S., Brazil, Argentina, Portugal, Spain, Netherlands, Senegal, Ghana, Cameroon, Tunisia or Morocco who will win the World Cup and they most often answer with their heart….it’s their “home country.”  But ask a refugee that question and it’s like you are asking someone from outter space, a martian, because they will answer with facts and so that’s who we asked.  No, not martians as they are too busy driving their spaceships, but refugees, all 103 million of them glued to their tvs and phones as they watch the games.  And this is what they told us:

Verite Bugondo
My name is Verite Bugondo, a Congolese by nationality, and twenty-four years of age. I am living in Malawi as a refugee. I am a Refugee football Network Reporter of both Community Reports and Goal Reports

World Cup is a competition that almost every single person who likes football enjoys watching. Despite that, not all the countries qualified for this competition but almost every country supports the countries that reached the competition.

I have discussed with a number of people about the World Cup 2022 in my community about who will be the winner, and this is what they said:

Michael Muchenga a Congolese by nationality said he has no doubt that Brazil will be the champion. Brazil has many professional players that are playing in different big clubs and that are doing great and they cannot fail to stand up for their country. He added saying that if Brazil doesn’t reach the final then it will be only France that can take the place of Brazil in this World Cup.

Billy Sango also a Congolese said that he believes that Argentina will not disappoint him. He confirmed by highlighting that Messi is the football miracle man to take this world cup to his home.

Desire Theodore a Burundian said it will be France taking this World Cup again. Even if Ngolo Kante and Karim Benzema are not in the movement, still France is on the lead of this world cup.

Emmanual Ndaisaba a Rwandese said Portugal will be the champion.  He said although I don’t see the effort in Portuguese players I am sure that they will take this world cup. I have no explanation of how they will reach the final but I am sure that they will take it.

Combining all the views of the refugees living in Dzaleka refugee Camp most of them are for the three countries to take this world cup either, Argentina, Brazil, or France. Despite that other countries they seem to be powerful like Germany, England, Spain, Portugal, and so forth but the three highlighted countries are the most supported by the refugees In Malawi.

I see that Brazil has all the capabilities to win this 2022 World Cup due to the professional players that they have from the goalkeeper to the last substitutes.   They are all used to different big leagues and they are all the best players in different clubs. Looking at the midfielders and strikers and defenders they are all strong and this gives Brazil a good position to win. Brazil you are the winner of the world cup 2022, fire Brazil.

Dzaleka Camp is very glad to see this world cup happen again and despite the difficulties of watching due to lack of the resources like TVs, people are still finding ways possible for them to watch the matches.

And now we hear from RFN’s Lead Reporter

My name is Aman Garang Wel. I am a South Sudanese refugee living in the Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya. In this article, I’ll refer to myself as a world citizen who wants to talk about the 2022 FIFA World Cup that is currently taking place in Qatar and make a world cup winner prediction.

It’s difficult to make a decision because so many of the world’s strongest countries are competing in this World Cup in Qatar. The World Cup in Qatar in 2022, nevertheless, might go to France, Portugal, Argentina, or Brazil, in my opinion. The winner of the current World Cup, though, is Brazil, I believe.

For the first and main of the reasons listed below, the Brazilian team is full of veteran players with a wealth of experience, including Captain Thiago Silva and others like Casemiro and Marquinoes. With the top defense in the competition, Brazil excels in possession-based attacks and counterattacks.

They are always pressing higher up the field, which allows them to win several balls into the center or into the half of the opposition. Because they have players like Vinicius JR and Richarlison in the attack, the Brazilians are less reliant on their talismanic Superstar Neymar JR.

While Portugal and Argentina play for Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, respectively, and if their talismanic superstars are caught up in the game, the whole team is trapped and they can’t perform to win, that is not the case for Brazil this time around.

France, on the other hand, depends on Kylian Mbappe being in the game in order for them to be more dangerous in front of the goal. Brazil is made up of Superstars because Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martnelli are leading the Premier League table with Arsenal, and they’re not into Brazil’s first-choice players in respective positions since there is Ricarlison and Vini JR in their positions.

Karim Benzema, one of France’s most iconic superstars who recently won a Ballon Do’r, has been ruled out of the tournament due to a thigh injury he sustained during training. The team has added additional superstars to the list of injuries, without his absence and other countrymen like Paul Pogba, France would still have been the current world champions.

Brazil will therefore win the current Tournament because of their intense play and strong team leadership formed by the energetic superstars and veteran players who had been shining across Europe for many years.
