In addition to the women’s team, FIFA 22 players will also have the chance to play with the men’s National Team and have access to exclusive FPF content throughout the season.
Nuno Moura, CMO of the FPF, believes this partnership will bring visibility, boost popularity, and help the acceleration of national women’s football, and will also allow taking the FPF brand to millions of fans of the Portuguese National Team around the world.
He said: “We’re proud to see FPF esports division recognised as one of the most proficient organisations in the world.
“We are delighted to cooperate, once again, with EA SPORTS globally, lending our brand and our intelligence and innovations platform to the evolution of the sport.
“This partnership will allow us to integrate, for the first time, the women’s National Team in the FIFA series giving millions of players, in Portugal and across the world, have the chance to know and play with Portugal’s athletes.
“We will also create a closer relationship with new generations of football fans and foster opportunities to boost their participation.
“The internationalisation and sharing of the Portugal brand within FIFA 22 in all geographies, but also the brand activation actions with EA SPORTS, will be another pillar of this agreement.
“We believe that this innovative partnership will have a positive impact on the football industry, across the board, and particular on the female segment.”
