Fox Sports has acquired the next two European Championships in 2024 and 2028 as part of a six-year rights deal with the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). Along with the highly-prized tournament, which is considered the second-biggest international soccer competition behind the World Cup, Fox also gains rights to the UEFA Nations League, and all other UEFA national team competitions including friendlies and World Cup qualifiers.
The agreement will see a Fox Sports take over coverage of International European football’s most prestigious tournaments in the United States from ESPN.
Executive producer, Eric Shanks has said of the agreement that “We are thrilled to welcome UEFA’s most-coveted events to Fox Sports’ unrivalled soccer portfolio,”. Shanks then went on to say that “the Euros fit perfectly into the world’s greatest tournaments – including the FIFA Men’s and Women’s World Cups™, CONMEBOL Copa América and Concacaf Gold Cup – solidifying Fox Sports’ summer of soccer through 2028.”
