As the first-ever airline sponsor of the NWSL, Delta will work with the league to support its athletes through women’s empowerment programs and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiatives.
“Delta is a champion for the growth of women’s sport in the U.S. and around the world,” said NWSL Chief Revenue Officer Mitch Poll. “We’re excited to welcome their team to the family and work together as we continue establishing the NWSL as the world’s premier women’s soccer league.”
The multi-year partnership will also include various opportunities for fan engagement events in addition to programming surrounding empowerment and DE&I.
“Joining the National Women’s Soccer League as its first-ever airline sponsor is a proud step in Delta’s work to support the teams and communities where we live, work and serve,” said Molly Battin, S.V.P., Global Brand Marketing at Delta. “We are excited about the opportunity to work alongside the league to build meaningful and empowering programs that support the athletes and reach into the communities where they play.”
Ahead of its historic 10th anniversary season, the NWSL kicked off preseason camp February 1. The opening of the 2022 season is set for Friday, March 18, when group play for the 2022 NWSL Challenge Cup begins.
