Mr Daniel Cravo, a Brazilian lawyer and Senior Partner at Cravo, Pastl and Balbuena Associated Attorneys, a law firm specialized in Sports Law, has been included in the general and football list of arbitrators by the International Council of Arbitration for Sport (ICAS).

It should be noted that Mr Cravo can act in cases where Spanish, Portuguese and/or English are required. He is one of CAS’s eleven Portuguese-speaking arbitrators. Besides Mr Cravo, three other Brazilian nationals are listed by CAS as arbitrators.

Daniel Cravo is also an integral member of the Soccerex family, and has acted as the Soccerex Lawyer for almost 10 years!

During his professional career, Mr Cravo has provided legal services to various clubs, athletes, associations, federations, confederations and companies involved in sports, Brazilian and foreigners, with a large experience in proceedings before the Brazilian and International Sports Courts, involving a variety of subjects, as, for instance, competition, disciplinary, contractual, player’s transfers, governance, ethics and doping-related matters, in many different modalities.

Mr Cravo is a member of the Executive Committee of the International Association for Football Lawyers (AIAF, with headquarters in Paris) and the Editorial Board of Football Legal and has a accumulated a great deal of accolades and experience whilst working in Sport.

He is also Legal advisor of the Brazilian Confederation of Tennis (CBT), former President of the Committee for Legal Issues of the Confederación Sudamericana de Tenis (COSAT), former President of the Sport Court (TJD) of the Federation of Motor Sports of the State of Rio Grande do Sul and former member of the Regional Sports Council of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (CRD).

In addition Mr Cravo also acted as the coordinator of the International Congress on Contemporary Sports Law (promoted by the Foundation of the Preparatory School to the Public Ministry, Porto Alegre, Brazil), editions 2009, 2011, 2013 and 2015, which has always counted on the participation of several international experts and authorities (including FIFA officials and CAS counsels and arbitrators) and was the Co-coordinator of the Sports Law Core of the School of the Magistracy of Rio Grande do Sul (Escola da AJURIS).

Furthermore, Daniel is member of the Disciplinary Committee of the World Athletics (former International Association of Athletics Federations – IAAF) and arbitrator before the Brazilian Center of Mediation and Arbitration (CBMA). He was awarded the João Saldanha Medal, conferred by the State of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, due to the activities provided in benefit of sports within the State
