Headquartered in Amsterdam and with offices in London, Istanbul, and Sao Paulo, MatchWornShirt host global, online shirt auctions where the bidding begins at kick off. The aim throughout is to create the best fan-experience from memorabilia sales, including interactive content and a custom framing service.

MatchWornShirt believe that top sport is inextricably linked with society and whilst enjoyed by all, a small minority find participation difficult. For this reason, the vast majority of the proceeds of each shirt sold are donated to charities promoting and facilitating sports, health and wellbeing.

The partnership with the Blades is starting off with a strong branding exercise that will see the new MatchWornShirt logo adorning the sleeve of the first team kit of our Emirates FA Cup third round tie against Wolves, on Sunday 9th January. Additional exciting news for fans, is that the first team squad of match worn shirts from that fixture will then be available for bidding on their auction site.

Liam Robinson from United’s commercial team, said: “This is a new and exciting venture for the club, putting us alongside some of the world’s elite sports teams that feature on the site regularly. We’re looking forward to working with MatchWornShirt on other branding exercises and auctions as the season progresses. The partnership will also carry the Blades to global markets, opening up new audiences to move the club forward.”

Floor Loeber, head of club success at MatchWornShirt, added: “We are delighted to be partnering with Sheffield United, working to mutually benefit both organisations for seasons to come. The history of the club is clear, and one that harbours such a strong appeal for our international customer base. We are keen to now get started and see our branding on the first team kit in the Emirates FA Cup tie this Sunday!”

The auction begun on the 9th January after the Wolves match but will run until 22nd January at 2pm.
