The MoU will also establish new lines of communication for the competitions to exchange expertise on leadership, corporate governance, sports management, and various aspects of audio-visual, commercial, and marketing matters.
LaLiga will likewise provide Ukrainian Premier League with guidance on how to develop its competition at a local level, as well as on the creation of new content and digital strategies to boost the profile of Ukrainian professional football on the global stage. On this note, knowledge-exchange initiatives will be undertaken including the holding of workshops and conferences to give Ukrainian clubs an insight into LaLiga’s methods.
By signing the MoU, both institutions have also reaffirmed their commitment to guaranteeing a clean game, agreeing to join forces to tackle match-fixing and any other activities that could bring football and sport into disrepute.
Moreover, this MoU describes the mutual understanding between LaLiga and Ukrainian Premier League to develop Training Seminars focused on different roles at Spanish and Ukrainian clubs to encourage the exchange of information to face new challenges in the football industry.
The document also covers other areas of collaboration, from the fight against audiovisual piracy and the increase of brand presence to the promotion of initiatives to combat racism and xenophobia, and the strengthening of grassroots football.
Jesús Pizarro, LaLiga’s delegate in Ukraine, highlighted the importance of signing this agreement: “This agreement will allow us to strengthen our relationship with Ukrainian Premier League and work together to exchange experiences and contribute to the development and professionalization of Ukrainian football.”
“We are very pleased to sign our strategic partnership with LaLiga and work to deepen our exchanges and challenge our issues. While the world is still fighting the coronavirus pandemic, we will strive to strengthen our partnership and make our way to go through this difficult situation together” and Ievgen Dykyi, Executive Director of the Ukrainian Premier League, said.
